πŸ” Helpful exclusions (explained clearly)

βœ… Wear & tear items (normal everyday use)

Some components naturally wear over time through normal driving and vehicle use. These are not considered sudden mechanical failures and are therefore not covered.

  • Brake pads and brake discs
  • Clutches and dual-mass flywheels
  • Tyres
  • Wiper blades
  • Bulbs and fuses
  • Drive belts and auxiliary belts
  • Suspension bushes and ball joints
  • Wheel bearings (unless a sudden catastrophic failure occurs shortly after sale)
  • Exhaust components (excluding manifolds and catalytic converters)
  • Batteries (including remote/key batteries)
  • Fluids, oils, lubricants and consumables
  • Filters (oil, air, fuel, pollen/cabin)
  • Interior trim, seat mechanisms, upholstery and cosmetic finishes
  • Exterior trim, badges, seals and weather strips
  • Paintwork, corrosion, stone chips and cosmetic bodywork defects
  • Air conditioning re-gassing and refrigerant loss
  • Wheel alignment, balancing and geometry adjustments
βœ… DPF / EGR / AdBlue – diesel emissions systems

Diesel emissions systems rely heavily on driving style and conditions. Short journeys and stop-start use can prevent proper operation and regeneration.

  • DPF blockage, regeneration issues, warning lights or forced regenerations
  • EGR valve sticking or carbon build-up
  • AdBlue pumps, injectors, heaters, sensors, tanks and contamination
βœ… Servicing, schedules & oil specification

Vehicles must be serviced in line with manufacturer schedules using the correct oil specification.

  • Missed or overdue services
  • Incorrect oil grade or extended service intervals
  • Damage caused by lack of routine maintenance
βœ… Timing belts / timing chains & engine damage

Timing components have manufacturer replacement intervals. Failure to replace them on time can cause serious engine damage.

  • Timing belts, chains, tensioners, guides and pulleys
  • Stretching, wear, noise or deterioration
  • Engine failure caused by overdue timing replacement
βœ… Authorisation, warning lights & next steps
  • All repairs must be authorised before work begins
  • We may inspect the vehicle or request an independent diagnosis
  • Driving with warning lights illuminated may invalidate cover for resulting damage
βœ… Modifications (and why they’re excluded)

Modifications alter how a vehicle performs and how stress is placed on components. Undeclared modifications invalidate warranty cover.

  • Engine remaps
  • Aftermarket turbos
  • Suspension modifications
  • Non-standard exhaust systems
